Introduction
The United States nursing care unit usually focuses on a high degree of fragmentation
among its health care providers. This usually contributes and constitutes affordable and
accessible quality care among the patients. There are specific ways in which the health care
providers are trained and how the patients need to be offered the health care services. It is
essential to understand that this can be achieved through communication which might be difficult
among the patients and the health care providers. It is also necessary for the public to understand
that care is redundant because there is no way to share results. Payment for health care services
by the patient's usually constituted rewards of their value rather than the volume of services.
According to Goode et al. (2020), the type of quality care is based on the people in the
society and their needs. Hence, this study focuses on outlining the four messages outlined in the
IOM report and explaining why these are significant to the nursing practice, discussing the direct
influence the IOM report has on nursing education and nursing leadership, describing the
benefits and opportunities for BSN‐prepared nurses, explaining why it is essential that a nurses
role and education evolve to meet the needs of an aging and increasingly diverse population,
discussing the significance of professional development, or lifelong learning, and its relevance in
caring for various people across the life span and within the health‐illness continuum, and
discussing how nurses can assist in effectively managing patient care within an evolving health
care system.

Nurses usually play a crucial role in health care facilities concerning the quality and value
of care. This is achieved by the four messages outlined in the IOM report. These messages
include. First, the nurses have the responsibility to act to their education and training. This means
that they need to use their skills and knowledge based on education and training. This will
contribute to the effectiveness of health care services in the health facilities. The second message
is that the nurses need to achieve higher educations and pieces of training via an improved
education system. This will help them be well equipped with the required skills and knowledge.
The third message on the IOM report is that nurses need to be full partners together with the
other healthcare providers. This will enhance communication which will, in turn, contribute to
the effectiveness of the healthcare services, as stated by Chard (2018). Finally, the IOM re...
