National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is owned by the family and
was founded on 21st February 1948 by Bill France Sr who has been the CEO until 2003 when his
grandson Brian France took over. Initially, it was divided into three divisions that are Strictly
Stock, Roadsters, and Modifieds. On 19th June 1949, Strictly Stock won the Charlotte Speedway,
and this was their first race. On the other hand, there is National Basketball Association (NBA) in
North America. It is considered to be one of the major men's premier leagues of professional
basketball. It comprises of around thirty teams one from Canada and the rest of United States. The
name of the league was founded on 3rd August 1949 after the Basketball Association of America
(BAA) merged with National Basketball League (NBL)
Once basketball was an American sport, but through NBA as the brand, it has transformed
it to be a global phenomenon. In the commercial world, both NASCAR and NBA marketers are
competing for consumers' time and this time I refer to the fans where they are expected to attend
events after some promotions. Lately, NBA sold about $1.2 billion tickets and acquired television
rights on top of it licensing the network have established the NBA brand at a higher level compared
to the NASCAR. The difference occurs where NASCAR has franchised with television networks
whereas NBA has NBA TV and NBA Entertainment thus reaching more fans.
There are more than one fifty companies which sponsorship which has arrangements with
NBA including the giant's companies like Coca-Cola, Gatorade, Pepsi, and MillerCoors. The
