Calculate f(-4) for the function f(x=×2nd +4×_2

Jan 29th, 2015

f(x) = x^2 + 4 x^-2

     = x^2 + 4/x^2   [note x^-2 is simply 1/ positive power)

f(-4) = (-4)^2 + 4/ (-4)^2

       =16 + 4/16

  =16 + 1/4

=16 1/4 or 16.25
