This is a documentary about Lyndon B. Johnson who took over Presidency after the
assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Americans had to embrace this new
President in short notice after previously having a beloved person as President. He had a mixed
personality, which is what defined him as an American since he was born, grew up and became
part of the political scene, first became Vice President to President John F. Kennedy then took
over Presidency. His personality was described as one would describe two sides of a coin, which
are usually different. These were the descriptions of those people he worked within the White
House during his reign as President, that is, his, advisor, biographer and two White House Press
Secretaries, all who got to experience him well enough in their areas of duty.
He was nominated by the National Democratic Party in 1964 as their Presidential candidate.
His energy is said to have been so much that he managed to win the Presidency, given the
promises that he put forward which happened to be very convincing to the American people.
With these promises, those who were swimming in poverty, the weak in society and those who
were in need of an education were all targeted as part of the campaign promises by Lyndon. He
was convincing enough for them as they needed change as much as he was hungry for power. He
had earlier run for office as a member of Congress back in 1937, which he ended up winning
even after collapsing from appendicitis just two days before ...
