By Saturday, February 4, 2017, choose two questions from the list below and respond—be sure to identify which numbers you’re responding to and to devote at least two paragraphs to each question’s response. Question 1: Compare the way English, Spanish, and French settlers interacted with the Native Americans. For each group, answer the following questions: How many settlers were sent? What was the gender ratio? Did the group come with the intention to settle? To trade? How did this impact interactions with the Native Americans? Analyze the impact that culture had on these interactions. Question 2: How could the English colonists have avoided turning to slavery? Explore about moral, economical, and political perspectives in your response. Question 3: How did the growth of tobacco impact the land, culture, economy, politics, and social relations both in North America and throughout the Atlantic? Question 4: The absence of gold in Canada and North America influenced colonial behavior toward the land and the natives. Do you feel that this statement is accurate or inaccurate? Why did the Spanish, French, and English come to the New World and how did their colonies develop differently from one another? Respond to both questions as thoroughly as possible, making sure to use information from the readings and the lectures. Maury is a young clinical psychologist who is new to private practice, and is working on a fee-for-service basis, meaning he doesn’t take insurance.One of the clients he has been treating is a 20-year old man who was referred by his parents whom Maury had seen previously to consult on parenting for their younger child. This patient still depends on his parents financially, and they were writing the checks the client would bring to pay for therapy.After a few months in which good progress seemed to be made, the client suddenly grew dissatisfied and began devaluing Maury and the treatment; he unexpectedly quit therapy, still owing an unpaid balance of over $600.Maury had a good relationship with the client’s parents, and he is confident they would be happy to pay the balance. However, the client is an adult, and Maury does not have a signed Release of Information stating he can speak with the client’s parents.Discuss what Maury can do to recover the unpaid balance. What ethical issues and concerns should he keep in mind? How might he avoid such a situation in the future?

As Hite and Seitz (2016) show in Chapter 4: Energy, the world is in the midst of an energy crisis as it concerns the rapid use and depletion of nonrenewable natural resources.  According to the textbook, “Many experts predict that the largest increase in demand for oil in the coming years will come from increasingly industrialized economies with large populations…” (p. 140) Can this be offset by measures taken in developed nations to address the energy–climate crisis?
