Introduction
In this research paper, my concerns are to differentiate between laws and ethics,
understand how both law and ethics affects today’s business environment and finally to analyze
the different types of Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms with more emphasis on how
they assist us at our workplaces. Law and ethics are similar in many ways, but this is not the case
in all situations. According to Crane & Matten (2016), Thomas Hobbes law is a set of rules that
are responsible for creating a centralized authority that runs the order of the society. Laws are
derived from many sources such as the Constitution, doctrines of equity, Acts of Parliament,
common law and religious law. Under the law, there is an important branch called the business
law. It is a large branch of law that helps in regulation of businesses at our workplaces and other
business environments.
Difference between Law and Ethics
In general, these laws are in place with the aim of easing how people transact their
businesses and to ensure the environment is conducive. Furthermore, this law protects various
people involved such as the businessmen, the consumers together with the suppliers. Examples
of such rules include the labor laws. These help in ensuring that the business rights of people are
