RESEARCH PAPER – ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY INSTRUCTIONS
An annotated bibliography is a bibliography covering all the different articles found on a specific
topic with a summary of the given research. Locate at least 8 sources related to your research
topic and create an annotated bibliography. Each of your sources must be academic (from a
scholarly journal) and recent (written within the last 5 years). IMPORTANT: Include at least 5
empirical articles. Use correct and current APA format for the citations and for the summaries of
the articles. DO NOT use the article’s abstract as your summary; you must read the article and
summarize it yourself. Review the instructions for the Research Paper – Final for more
information about the requirements for your research paper.
EXAMPLE:
Rand, D. C. (1997). The spectrum of parental alienation syndrome (part I). American Journal of
Forensic Psychology, 15(3), 1–8.
Deidre Conway Rand, a forensic psychologist, traces the history of what Dr. Richard Gardner
termed Parental Alienation Syndrome. Rand states in his article that Gardner coined the term
Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) in the mid-80s after over 10 years of working with children
in high-conflict divorces. Since Gardner’s contribution to civil forensics, there has been much
debate as to the accuracy of PAS. Rand describes the problems and the contributions that have
followed Gardner’s suggestion of PAS. He summarizes by clarifying that PAS is a developing
concept in forensic psychology and that courts are abusing the terminology.

Proposed Topic - Adolescence
The adolescence stage is a vital part of human development. It is commonly the age
between twelve and eighteen years. It is the stage at which human beings start to experience a
significant amount of changes transitioning from the childhood stage. The adolescence is a
sensitive stage for most parents as well as the children.
My approach in researching this topic is examining the biological, socioemotional and
cognitive contribution or factors in the adolescence stage. These aspects are expected to bring
out in details information about the adolescence stage and the contribution and significance of
EDUC 600
the three factors in this stage. My research will also explain how physical, cognitive and social
development contributes to the human development during this stage.
This is the feedback from my professor on the proposed topic that was submitted.
You may find that you need to narrow this topic down - perhaps focus on a specific issue that
impacts this population and/or choose a specific ethnic or class group to explore.

There is much to keep in mind in regards to this topic, including that our bodies have evolved over time and that our lifestyles have also changed. I am posting some links for you to explore. UWG Social Influences & Community Relationships that Influenced My Reactions Responses
Write a Discussion post describing two of the learning outcomes for this course- in view of the social aspects of your learning. Briefly list the outcomes.
Answer the following questions in your narrative:
Reflect on the social nature of your past learning. What interactions with others did you have that resulted in learning these outcome activities? Briefly describe your learning tied to TWO specific learning outcome. (Please review the instructions for the final discussion for the two learning outcomes you must discuss).
Which learning/reflective concept best relates to your situation? How?
What items, artifacts, or other portfolio items can you provide that will show the learning you achieved in interactions with others?
POST
Classmate 1:Over the years, I have so many social influences and community relationships that have affected the way I learn things. I am on the board of a non-profit and I work full-time for a non-profit. Both roles require me to constantly deal with and learn from my experiences. I have learned so much self awareness and empathy, especially from community relationships. Since I work for a non-profit, more than half of my relationships and social influences have me asking for money. Because asking for money can be a very sensitive subject, I have to constantly reflect back on different situations and see how I could have done things differently to have gotten a different outcome. I have always had confidence issues, these situations whether the outcome is good or bad, help me get stronger and give me really good things to reflect back on. I would say that the Specialization phase best describes where I am at right now. I have been in my Leadership position for 4 years. I know what my duties are and I am quite efficient at them. At this point, I am trying to figure out how I can do things better. I do think I am close to the Intergration Phase, I just need a little more confidence, getting my degree is one of the steps I am taking in this process. I am still working on my emotional intelligence, I started my career later in life because my confidence was so low. As I work on and reflect about my emotional intelligence, I gain confidence that I am good at what I do.My employer requires a yearly Employee evaluation. The employer fills out the evaluation and the employee also fills it out. During my review, we go over it. One of my goals always pertains to professional development. I think it is important to hold myself accountable for this because it helps with both confidence and emotional intelligence. Continuing education is also a very important part interacting with others. A perfect example are these discussions, I never feel confident about what I write but it always makes me feel good about myself once I can reflect back on what I wrote and see what everyone writes and replies back.
Classmate 2:In one of my previous classes almost all of our assignment were group projects. This was defiantly a learning experiences because we all had to work really hard to coordinate our schedules to work together as a team. I was very grateful for the group I was paired with because unlike past experience we all came up with ways in which could make things easier for communication. After that class was over, I really began to reflect on how the techniques we used in my previous experience could have made my past experience and grades so much better. Social influences and community relationships that shaped your reactions to past experience best relates to my situation because the people in my group really helped me to come to this conclusion. The way they interacted with one another including me really helped me learn better teamwork skills which I believe will help me even in my future career. I have many different portfolio items that I could provide to show the learning I achieved in interactions with others. I have many different evaluations where my group has evaluated my interaction and dedication to the group. I also have letters from my teachers on my classroom interaction that would also help show how I interact with others.
