Introduction
There is a necessity to ensure that the changes in the natural environment do not
influence the legal landscape in the United States negatively. Therefore, the legal landscape
needs to be frequently updated as other changes occur. In this regard, there are various
changes which have taken place in the legal system in the nation. Mostly, analysis of
fingerprints and ballistics testing have been influential in shaping the way the current legal
landscape is at the moment. This paper explains how fingerprint testing and ballistic analysis
have evolved to shape the legal landscapes in the United States.
Ballistic Testing
Ballistics testing refers to the science of mechanics which investigates the behaviors,
flight, launching, and the impacts of projectiles. Within the justice system, ballistic testing
involves investigating the behaviors and projectiles of bullets, rockets, unguided bombs
among others. It involves designing the path of travel of these factors so that they achieve
their correct targets. Regarding criminal investigation, basaltic testing includes reconstructing
the path taken by the projectile and ascertaining the possibility that a certain hit or target might
