This is the ambiguous case of solving oblique triangles.

If two sides and an angle is given,

1)if angle is acute-->5 solutions are possible

2)if angle is obtuse-->3 solutiones are possible

a)

Sides:  j=5.2 ,k=10.4,J=30°

   ~ a=10.4 b=5.2  B=30°

B is acute and a>b-->no of triangles possible from 5 cases is 0,1,2 

Answer is 3 totally.


b)Sides: j=8  k=8.2 J=140°

~  a=8.2 b=8 B=140°

B is obtuse and a>b-->0 triangles possible


Hence the answers are:

a)3 triangles 

b)0 triangles
