Implementing Risk Management
The case study I chose is Enabling a Customer Centric Experience through Project
Management. The organizations in the case study are du Telecom and Huawei Technologies.
This case study is about how du Telecom and Huawei technologies signed a Memorandum of
Understanding in order to contend with the constant change and long-term uncertainty in the
telecommunications industry. This case study illustrates how the two projects use project,
program and portfolio management in order to register success and improve the customer
experience (Buttle, 2009). Du Technologies worked in collaboration with Huawei in a bid to
ensure that the service provider achieved its customer oriented goals while at the same time
maintaining competitive advantage. Du Technologies was interested in boosting customer
satisfaction, increasing its revenue and market share, reduce its operating costs and increasing
its retention via an improved customer care in a bid to create a strong brand image. The result
of the collaboration was that both companies registered success in reduced project failure and
heightened quality of projects.
