How to know when to calibrate to tens, ones or tenths?

You should measure from the bottom of the meniscus (the curve) and generally to the nearest unit marked on your cylinder. This cylinder is marked to the nearest unit. You may be able to go as far as tenths of a unit, but not more than that. This shows 43.0 mL of fluid.
