Mattel is a multinational company founded in the United States of America in 1945 and
has its headquarters located in El Segundo in California. The deals with the manufacture of
children’s product and have over the years ranked as one of the best companies in addressing
such products. Some of the products of Mattel are Matchbox toys, Barbie dolls, club dolls, Ever
After High dolls, American Girl dolls, Fisher-Price, Master of the Universe toys, Monster High
dolls, among many others. Mattel also produces video game systems that are under its brands
while others are under the license from Nintendo (Gilbert & Wisner, 2010).
The company operates in more than one hundred and fifty countries across the world.
Mattel is the largest company that deals with the toys regarding the revenue generated. As a
business that deals with products that are to be used by the kids who may not be very careful,
Mattel managers has to ensure that the products made are up to the desired standards. The
products should be very safe to used, be mechanically strong to withstand damaging forces, and
be light regarding weight. These qualities will make the toys safe for use by the children as they
enjoy playing with them.
The manufacturers of the children’s product have special obligations that they have to put
in place as the manufacture the products. It is the role of the government to protect the life of
