A reform movement is explained as a type of societal movement that intends to create
ongoing transformation or alter some particular elements in the community, instead of quick or
ultimate changes. A reform movement is different from other drastic communal movements like
the revolutionary movements. Reformists’ notions are normally generated from liberalism.
However, they may be entrenched in socialist or spiritual ideas (Bolt, 2014). Some depend on
individual transformation while the rest depend on strong communes like the spinning wheel as
well as the village that maintains its economy which was developed by Mahatma Gandhi. There
have been various reforms made during the civil war in the United States, these were supposed to
ensure that conditions in the country improve.
