The America Marketing Association define Marketing as a set of activities, institutions,
and procedures for generating, communicating, providing, and exchanging offerings that
customers, partners, clients, and society at large find value on them (Jaakkola & Alexander,
2014) . Value proposition is defined as a customers’ perception on goods they are buying. It
describes the worthiness of good or profits acquired by the customers by buying the goods
offered (Ozuem & Lancaster, 2014). At this point the customers are able to differentiate your
service or products from that of your competitors and should be able to perceive the significance
of those benefits that enable the products to stand out in their mind and be willing to pay for
those benefits.
The value proposition is one of the major and importance product development terms as
it expresses the value of goods or service from the customer’s point of view (Clark et al…,
2017). It focuses on how that difference provides valuable benefits to customers and not about
what you do different from your competitors. The value proposition does vary by customer
segment and at such circumstance company or the organization need to focus on one segment at
a time and provide the segment specific activities and resources required by the customer
(Ozuem & Lancaster, 2014).
Marketing process is the sequence of steps in analyzing situation to identify the
opportunities and formulating strategies for customer value proposition where practical
