Volunteers and political officials in local communities often campaign to improve conditions and provide services to increase the well-being of individuals and families living in those communities. If you are the parent of young children, you might focus on improving the local school or creating safe places where children can play. If you are an individual in later adulthood or a caregiver for an individual in later adulthood, what community resources might be important to you? For this week's Assignment, you evaluate the resources that your local community provides for its older members.
To prepare for this Assignment, research the resources available in your local community to support the issues and concerns of the older population. Note any gaps in these services and consider what improvements might be made to existing services as well as what services should be added.

There are some identifiable resources and services within my community of residence
that is designed to offer service support and care for the older population in their homes and
outside their homes. These programs are offered by the community-based support and services
which serve to provide specific resources for older adults and their caretakers, including
programs such as nutritional support, education programs, counseling sessions, senior centers
and adult day service center.
Nutritional support services are offered by the medical institution including health centers
which have specialists who offer nutritional treatment, diagnosis, and guidelines which older
adults should observe to keep themselves nutritionally healthy. This is because old age is
accompanied by some nutritional challenges and vulnerabilities. The second service is an
educational program for the older age. This is offered in local education institutions for few
hours in a week to assist the old age to keep their memories active and fresh. It is a voluntary
service or sometimes can be prescribed by psychiatrists. This program teaches the aged some life
