Introduction
This paper will focus on the 35th president of the united states John F. Kennedy who was
the president between the years 1961 and 1963 when he was assassinated. He was the youngest
president that the United States has had to assume office at the age of 43. He was considered a
diplomatic president mainly because of his significant diplomatic treaties with other countries on
different issues involving American citizen. He had significant plans in place to ensure that
American citizens were peacefully engaged and coexisted through the consideration of equal rights
to all. He significantly promoted the American idealism throughout the world although there
existed significant challenges at the time especially from the communist (Cimbala, 2014).
His role as a chief diplomat
President Kennedy was a very vital diplomat and made significant engagement with other
countries, which significantly preserved the presence of the United States as a world leader. During
his presidency, there was significant pressure from the communist with the struggle of the world
power title between the Soviet Union and the United States. The peak of his diplomacy was very
much visible during the Cuban missile crisis. President Kennedy pursued the policy of flexible
response in handling significant issues during the cold war period more specifically the Cuban
missile crisis of 1962 and Berlin crisis of 1961 (Hitchens, 2016). President Kennedy showed that
he was very much willing and able to negotiate through back channel diplomacy when the situation
arises. The president did not consider or lock himself in a doctrine that was rigid in a sense it would
be detrimental to the international diplomacy relations that had been clearly developed. In 1961
