LAST NAME HERE 1 FULL NAME HERE Instructor Melissa Nye CLASS NAME HERE DAY MONTH YEAR Visual Rhetoric Analysis Just after the EAP class on Tuesday morning, I noticed this piece of poster on the desk of the rest area in the Recreation Center. It caught my eyes by the USF-style-painted bicycle and delicate ox-horn-shape logo. I love riding bikes and I ride to campus everyday now. Last semester, when I still live on campus, I really enjoyed the convenience brought by those bull bikes. I do strongly recommend this transportation to people, and I believe this poster might be helpful to achieve this goal. The rhetorical situation in this picture is not complicated at all. The argument is suggesting people to ride social bikes and tell them how to realize it. The author, whose name on the top right corner of the picture, is an organization called "Student Green Energy Fund". The audience is obviously people in USF especially students; because as the largest group of people on campus, the more students ride bikes the more energy are saved. Furthermore, the iconic image of bike and mobile phone shows the tight relation between these two items. There are no complicated processes to apply for the using of bike. What people need is merely taping on their mobile phones. Additionally, several short phrases on the cell phone's screen shows the way that share-a-bull bikes work. These phrases are almost in a brief mode of "one verb plus one object", especially the continuous repeat of "Unlock it", "Ride it" and "Lock LAST NAME HERE 2 it". All these words visually make the audience feel easy and convenient to ride the bikes. In such a way, more students would probably choose riding as their transportation inside USF campus.
