Lecture teaching is one of the traditional methods whereby the teacher delivers all his
content verbally. The method is very effective in teaching large numbers and bulky syllabus
(Davar, 2012). The main con of a lecture method is that lecturer does most of the talking. To
enhance a lecture, the teacher can prepare some question to ask the student. This will help the
lecture to be interactive. The lecture can also allow students to ask questions of the areas they did
not understand. Another way a lecture can be enhanced is by use of audio-visual teaching aids
that can help in break the monotony of a lecture.
Another technique of enhancing lecture is by highlighting the main point in a teaching
lesson at the end of the lecture. A lecture should prepare a lesson plan. In the lesson plan, each
topic covered should have a set of questions a lecturer can ask randomly. A lesson plan should
allocate time for the student to ask questions. Involving student will break the monotonous of
lecture method thus making it interesting for the student. The lecturer should prepare the
teaching aids to use. The visual aids should be clear to all the students to avoid any damage to
their sight.
