Description
Leadership Profile and Action Plan
Throughout the class, you have completed leadership Self-Assessments to analyze your own leadership behaviors, skills and knowledge. Now is the time to take that information and create your leadership profile and then develop a plan to integrate your leadership profile analysis to increase your leadership abilities.
For this Assignment, first, compile the Self-Assessments you have completed throughout the class. This is your leadership profile. Review the notes you have taken each unit on your insights, reactions, and evaluations of the Self-Assessment results. After analyzing your Self-Assessment answers and interpretation of the results, answer these questions:
- Which results or interpretations of the Self-Assessments surprised you?
- Which topics can you integrate into your current position?
- Which topics will you use in your future careers?
- Which areas of leadership skills/ and or knowledge are your strengths? Identify at least five and explain with specific examples.
- Which areas of leadership do you want to/ need to work on the most to improve your leadership skills and/ or knowledge? Identify at least five and explain with specific examples.
Next, take each of the FIVE areas identified that need to be worked on separately and incorporating the textbook techniques, theories and suggestions, put together a plan to develop these skills and knowledge. This is your Leadership Action Plan.
Your Leadership Action Plan should include (for each of the FIVE areas identified):
- The area needing to be improved (list the Self-Assessment quiz number and the name of the skill/ knowledge needed).
- A technique from the textbook that you will use to improve.
- Your intended outcome (What do you expect to learn?).
- Your deadline for improving in this area.
When creating your Leadership Action Plan, keep in mind that your goals should be SMART goals described in the textbook when creating your profile:

Which results or interpretations of the Self-Assessments surprised you?
The result of the self-assessment regarding the desire for recognition was the most
surprising to me because of the high scored obtained. My perception of the things that inspire
and motivate me to put in my best when performing any activities is quite different from the
output of this assessment. Until I took this test, my understanding of displaying my medals and
trophies and encouragement to do more when praised for my job were good traits and
motivational factors. Secondly, the interpretation from the strategic thinking capabilities was also
surprising because I did not consider myself to have most of the abilities that were used for the
evaluation.
Which topics can you integrate into your current position?
Knowledge sharing and cross-cultural skills and attitudes are the two topics that would be
integrated into my current position as the team leader of the product development team.
According to Ritala, Olander, Michailova, & Husted (2015), the best-performing organizations
in today’s global business environments are becoming increasingly effective in converting selflearning into organizational learning. He explained that they are doing through the culture of
recognition and reward for employees that participate in their knowledge sharing programs or
considered by colleagues as willing to provide guidance and support when they experience
challenges. This approach improves the collaborative and cooperative spirit of the various groups
since those sharing their knowledge and expertise are less afraid of the competitive advantage
their rare skills and competencies afforded them. The adoption of cross-cultural skills would be
an effective means of the maintaining the success gained from the implementation of the
