QUESTIONS
1. What does the term business process mean?
A business process is a series of steps taken to accomplish a particular task in the course of
running a company. Business processes can be divided into "operational" and "strategic"

2. What are three examples of business process from a job you have had or an organization
you have observed?
The three examples will be from a hotel I worked at for a summer job a few years ago, a current
job I have, and a business processes I have seen being used during my time at each of these jobs.
Two different hotels within the same chain will often use the same methods for checking in even

was the same as the first, but this time it is done through a computer. The other is done by hand,
where one member of staff has all the keys and what room they go to each in a box. The staff
member will then call up the number of rooms that have been booked for that night. Two people
are then sent off to bring up these keys that are needed for check in. There are also two st...
