Prepare a paper that meets or exceeds the following requirements:
- Compose a brief summary of the author’s main points.
- Assess the value and challenges of clinical decision support systems (CDSSs), in general, and of computerized physician order entry systems (CPOEs), in specific, to achieve the patient-centered care goals set forth in the article.
- Evaluate the pros and cons of linking electronic health records (EHR) to at least three clinical information systems (e.g.,. LIS, PIS, RIS, etc. and physician mobile devices).
- Explain and defend the rationale for classifying EHR, CPOEs, and CDSS as patient-centered management systems.

Healthcare has undergone severe transformations such as the introduction of Affordable
Care Act and intensified healthcare regulations in the past decade. Digital equipment also
infiltrated the industry exponentially, and most health workers get assigned technological
equipment. The technology allowed healthcare workers collect, store and append information
about patients through electronic means, thus transforming the means through which care gets
offered to patients. The innovative digital solutions like the computerized medication and
electronic health records increased the relative efficiency in treating infections and increased the
accuracy of storing and tracking the data concerning the medical reports.
The article explains electronic medical records as a digitized version of the patient paper
chart. The article argued that electronic health records involve patient-centered, real-time record
that avail information instantaneously when the need arises. The information operates under a
secure platform letting only those in need of the information with access to the files at any given
time. The electronic health records not only stores the previous patient information, but it also
offers a full scope of dealing with patient information during patient care.
Additionally, the article reviewed that electronic health records contain the patients’
