The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is used by correctional institutions to address the issue of all sexual misconduct. This legislation was instituted under the George Bush administration and which has a zero tolerance for sexual assaults.
Dangerous offenders are managed in community settings by using community corrections field which plays an important role in prevention of assaults. Correctional institutions also use force to maintain order and prevent violence.
Surveillance technologies are being used to detecg early crimes and in getting to the crime scene early.
