What is the domain of the function

f(x) = 16/x^2-3x

Feb 8th, 2015

Domain is all values of x that will give you a value for f(x).  The only time there will not be an output would be if the denominator of the fraction were to equal zero.

x^2 - 3x = 0

Factor

x(x-3) = 0

x = 0              x - 3 = 0

                      x = 3

Therefore these are the only points excluded from the domain.

Domain = (-infiinity, 0) (0,3) (3, + infinity)
