Q1. What do you think of the implications of turning over your data to corporations?

There are several purposes why corporations and businesses collect personal data. As
technologies that capture, store and analyse data emerge, corporations have consequently
proliferated their abilities to contextualize personal data and gain new insights from it. One of
the most critical tools for the capture and analysis of data in most corporations is artificial
intelligence. Organizations use this tool to gain a better understanding of the daily business
operations, making more informed decisions, and understanding both their customers and
emerging market trends. From consumer data to predictive analytics, corporations have
established consumer data as a focus area. As it currently is, there are companies that selling
personal data to third parties entities or creating targeted ads as a way of generating profit.
Despite providing business opportunities, mining data from consumers might interfere with
their privacy and endanger their well-being, especially when the data lands in the custody of
careless organizations (Callanan et al., 2021).
