Question 1:
In the prologue, Shakespeare helps us understand the story in a highlight while
introducing the characters in the play. In the play, Shakespeare describes the ill-fated
couple as “star-crossed.” In reference, we look at the star, which highlights the general
concept of what it meant. “From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of starcrossed lovers take their life, Whose misadventure piteous overthrows Doth with their
death bury their parents’ strife” (Prologue.5–8). The belief is that stars control people
destiny. Ideally, in reference to both Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare exemplifies what
sounds like fate for the two lovers. The fact that the idea brought in the prologue asserts
the idea that the two characters fate intertwined and both could not escape. Ultimately,
their love for each other turned to be their death, each action to be with each other implies
their fate could not be escaped or reversed.
Question 2

some new infection to thy eye, / and the rank poison of the old will die” (1.2.4950). It later turns out that when Romeo sees Juliet, all the love he had for Rosaline
disappeared just as Benvolio had said.
