Answer the following questions for each corresponding scenario in at least 350 words each.
1. The HR Director is having lunch outside the office. She hears a competitor talking about a
significant change in their business that could affect the performance of her own firm.
What is HR’s ethical duty?
Having exposed important information to the public, the acquisition of the information was
therefore unlawful. The employees stumbled upon the information as they were getting busy
with their activities. Ethics requires each employee to work for the benefit of the company. The
ethical duty of the HR is to treat the information as intelligence. Furthermore, she should look
for ethical means of conveying the information to the relevant departments so that they will
work appropriately to neutralize the information and neutralize the competition (Ferrell &
Fraedrich, 2015). The HR should also analyze the department that is likely to be affected by the
contest since any information could help improve the performance of the firm. It is also
important for the HR to conduct a review of the personnel so as to take the appropriate action
that will keep the company on par with other competitors. If the necessary action to be taken is
to relieve some employees in the interest of the firm, the HR should take the step (Wilton, 2016).
