Similarities between the early Mesopotamian civilization and the Greeks
Mesopotamia and Greece were among the first places where civilization took place. The
civilization in Mesopotamia and Greece has both similarities as well as differences in various
aspects such as their society, culture, education, and family, among others. Regarding the society
in the ancient Greece, the Greeks had the same religion, culture, and religion. However, they
were politically divided in many independent city-states. In Mesopotamian civilization, the
society also had similar religion, culture, and also like the Greeks, they were political system was
also unevenly distributed (Noble, Osheim, & Strauss, 2008). The cities during the Greeks
civilization were however different from those in Mesopotamia. In the Greek civilization, their
cities were located on a fortified hill while in Mesopotamia; the cities were located around where
the temple was located. Both the Greek and Mesopotamian civilization were similar in terms of
agriculture whereby the Greece primarily practiced agriculture which was also the case in the
early Mesopotamia.
In terms of culture, both the Greeks and Mesopotamians had a culture whereby both had
developed their own festivals, traditions, and ceremonies which were an important aspect of the
