length=2x-3

width= x

area of a triangle= L*W

(2X-3)X= 27

2X^2-3X=27

2X^2-3X-27=0

2X2-9X+6X-27=0

X(2X-9)+ 3(2X-9)=0

(X+3)=0OR 2X-9=0

X=-3 OR X=4.5

The measurement cannot be negative.....so we ignore the negative value

length=2x-3

2(4.5)-3= 6

width= x=4.5
