Before you begin writing, please see the General Guidelines for Case Studies and review the assessment criteria below.Papers will be assessed on the following criteria:Description of the Case and Identification/Coverage of Major IssuesDepth and Scope of AnalysisSolutions and StrategiesWriting Clarity and QualityAPA formattingGeneral Guidelines for Case Studies A case study is a short description of a real business situation. Analyzing case studies gives you the opportunity to apply concepts you’re learning to real business problems. Cases are generally written for several types of analysis. Usually, there is not a "right or wrong" answer. Rather, cases provide a vehicle for you to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply course concepts and theories. You must use appropriate sources (properly cited) to support your position. Check your analysis by assessing how well it demonstrates your subject knowledge. If your answer relies solely on your ‘impressions’ of the topic, it is likely that the analysis is not your best effort.Simply answering the questions which are part of the case is not enough; consider the questions to be clues to the important concepts and facts. You are strongly encouraged to use the following outline so that your analysis is organized appropriately:1. Identify both the key issues and the underlying issues. In identifying the issues, you should be able to connect them to the business principles which apply to this situation.2. Discuss the facts which affect these issues. The case may have too much information. In your discussion, you should filter the information and discuss those facts which are pertinent to the issues identified above.3. Discuss your tentative solution to the problem and how you would implement your solution. What actions would you propose to respond to the situation, based on the knowledge you have gained in this course? You should draw on knowledge gained in your readings, experience and coursework (in this course and others) to support your response. Be sure to properly cite references in APA format. You should also draw on other references such as business periodicals and relevant journals. Remember that an analysis is more than simply a summary of the Case Study.4. Discuss follow-up and contingency plans. How will the organization know that your proposed solution is working? What should they do if it does not work?Your analysis of each case study should be written in APA format. If you need assistance with APA formatting, the Online Writing Lab at Purdue University has excellent APA-specific resources available here: Purdue OWL APA Style Help.Evaluation Criteria Have you identified the critical issues/problems in the case and analyzed the key facts related to the issues/problems? Have you discussed a tentative solution that addresses the issues/problems and how you would implement your solution? Is information from the textbook and other sources integrated into your analysis appropriately? For all sources, you must provide complete APA citations. Is the paper professionally presented? Remember your audience. It is important to present your information as clearly and succinctly as possible. Do not sacrifice thoroughness for mere brevity. Have you read it over carefully and corrected any grammar and spelling errors?

Southern New Hampshire University Module 3 Narrated Journal
Overview: In the Module Three overview, you read how the history lens and popular culture collaborate to tell a culture’s narrative. Sometimes, popular culture
tells its own historical narrative, creating a meta-text for that event or artifact. Hollywood especially loves to tell these kinds of historical stories. For this activity,
you will choose one of the segments from the How Hollywood Does It series and look at how Hollywood tells its own history of film. Choose one of the films to
watch and review for this assignment. Links to the films can be found in the reading and resources section of module three. Other historical documentaries
about film may be used only with instructor approval. For this assignment, you will watch one film through the history lens and will have the opportunity to
practice the communication and technical skills needed for Final Project Part Two. You will create a short PowerPoint presentation with an oral narration using
the PowerPoint narration tool. This will also allow you and your instructor to check that your technology works for this assignment, and to troubleshoot any
potential difficulties before the Final Project Part Two due. This activity must be submitted in PPTX format for your professor to give you feedback on whether
your technical components are correct.
Prompt: In your PowerPoint slides, use the PowerPoint narration tool to verbally record your answer to the following questions:
What are the challenges Hollywood faced in your chosen segment? What are the benefits of their solutions?
How does critically analyzing Hollywood and popular culture add value to interactions with people in personal and professional contexts and/or in
understanding society and culture as a whole?
Throughout your short PowerPoint presentation, make sure you use effective multimedia and communication skills:
Construct your presentation in a way that ensures the audio and visual elements are logically organized in order to convey your message to your
audience.
Provide supporting evidence in your presentation that supports the importance of an issue or event in the film and its impact within popular culture.
Develop the audio narration to logically flow with the presentation to articulate the importance of critically analyzing an issue or event in the film and its
impact within popular culture.
Note: When you are recording the oral component of your presentation, a headset or external microphone is recommended for better results. However, you
can also use the microphone incorporated into your computer or cell phone. Use the Check File Compatibility With Earlier Versions and Are You Having Video or
Audio Playback Issues? resources from Microsoft to help you check compatibility between versions of Office.
Rubric
Guidelines for Submission: Your presentation should be 2 to 4 slides and should be between 2 to 4 minutes in length. You are required to include a combination
of text, visuals, and audio narration in order to support your work. Speaker notes are not required. Be sure to cite your sources, including the film you discuss, on
a separate slide in APA format. If you require alternative accommodations for completing this assignment, reach out to your instructor directly for more
information.
