GROUP DISCUSSION #1 ASH: Looking back at the different modules, I had several instances that I took some of the things I read and now use it. Being a manager and hiring in the field I'm in it helps to read the good and the bad choices of other employers so I can stop the bleed so to say and try and change some of the things that people feel are horrible about other companies. I specifically go back to finding the right employee for the correct job. This module makes you really look at the people you hire and want to people them in the right place. I liked reading about the different places in this module google came up a lot in this section so it gave me some ideas and helped me grow as a manager running a business. CRYSTY: Hi Ash! I have enjoyed your posts, comments and suggestions throughout this course. I agree finding the right person for the right job is so important in any business. When the wrong person fills a position and is unable to perform the demands of the job it trickles down and makes the rest of the team either have to step up or assignments and duties are left undone. Then it becomes unfair for the team and creates an environment that is unpleasant. Good luck in your endeavors!! -Crysty REPLY: GROUP DISCUSSION #2 MIKE: Evening Class, I really enjoyed this class and all that it provided me. For me reading everyone post and seeing their thought process and how their experiences have shaped their opinion on each assignment. As for topics my favorite one was Who is a manager and how do managers make decisions for the future based on today’s information. The reason as someone who is currently in leadership position, I’m always searching for ways to put my subordinates and myself in the best position to succeed. I try to do my best to use current information to enhance our ability to always provide a quality product. But I know that there will be trial error but any tips I can learn about how to make even better decisions in critical moments is plus for me. In the military critical thinking is a must and skill that is constantly evolving due to its ever-changing nature. My favorite post was from Sacksith from MOD 4 and it was the last thing that was written in the post. In the post it was stated that America still lacks diversity in a lot of companies, which in my opinion is truly sad. The fact that after some companies created whole departments to increase multiculturalism and shows that they do not respect it and just wanted to add a monetary gain to quell the issue surrounding it. But I digress maybe one day we will have an increase, but it will be way in the future before that happens. I’ve truly enjoyed this class and everything it provided me during the last eight weeks. -Mike WALLEY: Hi Mike, I feel the same way. I also really enjoy other classmate experiences and what they have overcome. I have also learned a lot and see the many view point that all the classmate offer. REPLY:
