Definition of ethics:-

These are rules of conducts recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group or religion.

William Sherman - was an American soldier, educator, businessman and an author.  He served as a general in the union army during the American civil war in 1861 to 1865 for which he received recognition for his outstanding command of military strategies.

Jefferson Davis - He was an American soldier and politician who was the president of the confederate states of American during the American civil war.

Andrew Johnson - he was the 17th president of the United States ,he served from 1865 to 1869. He became the president as he was the vice president at the time of president Abraham Lincoln assassination.

The president developed plan for southern reconstruction that pardoned rebels and restored their property. He declared that white men alone must manage the south.

Republican view on voting rights was to

Grant citizenship and civil rights to all male persons in the United States, without distinction of race and color. The bill introduced by Illinois Senator Trumbull offered protection against state laws e.g black codes that limited rights for African Americans in some Southern states.

Reconstruction act was the plan to bring the union physically and politically together. This was after the civil war the congress developed plans to rebuild the nation, readmit the southern states and provide citizen rights to African Americans. They arose conflicts between congress and Andrew Johnson over reconstruction plans. Though African Americans had many basic civil rights and opponents found a way to erode the rights. 

The election of 1868.

The United States presidential election of 1868 was the 21st quadrennial presidential election held on Tuesday, November 3, 1868. It was the first election to take place after the American civil war, and during the reconstruction period. 

The Freedmen's  Bureau was established in 1865 by Congress to help former black slaves and poor whites in the south in the aftermath of the U.S civil war

Frederick Douglass -

He was an African American social reformer, writer, orator and statesman. He became the leader of the abolitionist movement, gaining note for his dazzling oratory and incisive antislavery writing after escaping from slavery. He stood as a living example to slaveholders’ arguments that slaves lacked the intellectual capacity of function as independent American citizens.

Ku Klux Klan - Is the name of three distinct movements in the United States? The first begun violence against African Americans in the south during the reconstruction of the 1860 and was disbanded by 11869.

The second was a very large controversial nationwide organization in the 1920’s.The current manifestation consists of numerous small unconnected groups that use the KKK name. They have all emphasized secrecy costumes.

Black Codes - were laws passed by the Southern states in 1865 and 1866 after the civil war? The laws had the intent and the effect of restricting African Americans freedom and of compelling them to work in a labor economy based on low wages and debt.
