Group discussion
Group discussion is an important activity in various spheres of life inclusive of academic,
business enterprise and the administrative fields. Here, there is free flow with ideas exchanges,
feelings and thoughts taking place through communicating orally. The discussion was based on
leadership thus class division into smaller groupings. There was in-depth understanding poised
by the fellow students while undertaking the study process. Under the topic of dissuasion, the
students were abreast with the trends currently and coming up with controversial topics together
with distinct experiences.
Everyone participated in the group with an idea of coming up with a leader to chair the
discussion process. I was the team leader in the discussion that involved all the members in the
dissuasion process. I noted differences in the participation with some being quite but attentive
while other group members raised their hands to answer a posed query. Those who dominated
were actively providing their knowledge through orally narrating the subject of discussion. Most
of the group members were active, and for the silent ones, I made them productive by giving
them questions in which they had to talk out their thoughts. We conquered on various issues
surrounding the topic after much quarreling and coming to a consensus. No one was allowed to
contradict the other one with their idea dominating the discussion but rather hand out room to
convince everyone on your stance. This called for thorough research with everyone turning to the
course books and learning devices inclusive of tablets and laptops for searching.
