The Lost Boys are adopted by Mrs. Darling. She actually converses with Peter and tries to convince him to remain with the Darling family, but he refuses, not wanting to grow up.
Peter's relationship with the Darlings is multi-generational. It's hinted that Mrs. Darling had known Peter as a girl, and he comes to take away Wendy's daughter Jane, and later Jane's daughter Margaret, in the epilogue.
