Software Development Cycles

Software development cycle or rather process is a term used in computer science to
refer to the series of phases as well as steps that provide a reliable model which can be used
develop and manage lifecycle of a certain application. The methodology of software
development process may vary from one organization or industry to another. However, the
standards of software development such as ISO/IEC 12207 may remain the same across the
entire industry of computer science. The standards just represent the processes that are essential
in the establishment of a software’s lifecycle. Acquisition, configuration and development of
the software systems solely depend on the standards model (Brewer & Dittman, 2013).
Some of models used in software development include waterfall model, V-model, Agile
model, Spiral model incremental model as well as Prototype model. Each of these models
follows certain life cycles for the process of developing a reliable software to be successful.
However, there are some benefits that are associated with SDLC Process. One of the benefits
is that software development cycles help in the production of products that are not only costefficient but also effective and of a better quality. There are several stages that are involved in
SDLC Process and they include analysis, training, requirements and design, construction,
testing of the software, release, respond and then maintenance. It...
