Description
Discussion: What Is Your Leadership Style
Ana and the accounts receivable group at Riverville Medical Center (RMC) admired the personality traits of their manager. Bennet was enthusiastic, very sociable, and always positive. Bennet was also competent, a hard worker, supportive, honest, and humble. The team felt highly comfortable having him as their leader. At one moment, Ana thought to herself: “I wonder if Bennet’s personality has something to do with the way he leads our team.”
Personality types can be matched to leadership styles (Tomar, 2019). The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test can be a useful tool for identifying your personality traits, in both your work and personal life. The MBTI is a personality test that analyzes four characteristics and classifies people into one of 16 personality types (Robbins & Judge, 2018). Organizations increasingly rely on personality testing as a tool to optimize their workforces (Harrel, 2017).
For this Discussion, you will take a simplified Myers-Briggs assessment and apply it to your organizational leadership style.
