Multiyear Plans and Analysis
City of Charlottesville 2010 Annual Comprehensive plan
Charlottesville city is situated at central Virginia. It is an economic, educational and
cultural center. The city has a lot of benefits to its people both economically and socially.
Charlotte also offers a number of services to its residents like police protection, solid waste
collection, security, street and road maintenance, healthcare facilities, parks and recreational
facilities. The services provided are aimed at improving the living standards of the people living
in the city. In the year 2008, the city experienced a decline in revenue collection and the most
affected areas were residential and commercial real estate (City of Charlottesville 2016).
Revenue collected from food sales, lodging, and sale of goods increased slightly compared to the
previous years. The decline in revenue collection resulted to a decrease in value of residential
and commercial properties. The situation at Charlotte city did not affect the entire country as
many had anticipated. The people had thought that a crisis had hit the city in Virginia, it was

The changes included renovation, construction and refurbishment of the city’s infrastructure. The
initiative involved both private and public investors. An evidence of such changes is the
construction of Downtown mall which is doing quite well as it is attracting a large number of
customers who are willing to spend their money there. The Art and music industry has reemerged evidenced by the increase of the number of visitors who comes to Charlottesville. Also,
the refurbishment of theater which can accommodate a higher capacity of people is a signifier of

how the entertainment sector of the city has enhanced. The renovations have also increased the
number of tourists visiting the place. The city’s Downtown mall has a capacity of one thousand
parking spaces which make parking affordable and readily available for visitors, residents and
workers who need services from the mall (City of Charlottesville 2016).
The annual capital liquidity report for the Charlottesville showed that the ratios of capital
had raised greatly. For example, the ratio of the net bonded debt to assessed worth has increased
in a duration of ten years. The debt provision to tall general expenditures has also improved over
the same duration. The law requires that the total expenditure budget to sustain debt should be
ten percent or less but that has not yet been implemented as the policy which is wo...
