We must sum the x and y components of each vector 

A: x = 5.0 , y = 0

B: x = -cos(60)*7.9 = -3.95 , y = sin(60)*7.9 = 6.84 

C: x = 0 , y = -8.0

Resultant: x = 5.0 - 3.95 + 0 = 1.05 , y = 0 + 6.84 - 8.0 =  -1.16 

so in coordinates the resultant vector is [1.05 , -1.16] 


the magnitude of the resultant is: M = sqrt((1.05^2) + (-1.16^2)) = 1.56

with angle = tan (-1.16/1.05) = -47.85 degrees
