Think about all the information available with just the click of a button. People used to have to go to the library to get the information they're looking for. Now they can stay in their comfortable homes and do research or chat with friends all over the world or buy things online.
On the downside, there is less physical interaction between people. People are living in a virtual reality and not really relating to each other on a human level. Some people even become addicted to the internet and spend most of their time in front of the computer screen. This contributes to social dysfunction.
