Ahmet's comments to Garth imply that Garth was to be offloaded from the institute to
reduce the costs. Therefore, Garth's responses and explanation are reasons that should make
Ahmet reconsider his decision and even settle for a better decision (Not sacking Garth). If I were
Garth, I would provide the following reasons as my response. Firstly, when I first joined Eastern
Oceanography Institute, some staff members had limited knowledge of computer applications
and I therefore too the responsibility and taught them. Additionally, I responsibly attended to
several unexpected problems that some researchers faced while handling computer and system
operations (Sanchez, 2017). Finally, during an interruption of the system by a virus, I burnt the
midnight oil to ensure a reduced severity until it was eradicated.
During the economic downturn, I was critical in determining the vital decisions to help
curb the financial challenges facing the institute. I took my time and taught some of my
