Please note that if I square both sides of your irrational equation, I get:

4 w + 13 = 6w + 7

and then

2 w = 6

namely:

w = 3

Please note that w=3 is an acceptable solution, since both radicals are positive:

4 w + 13 = 12 + 13 = 25 >0

6 w + 7= 18 + 7 = 25 >0
