Management is a critical part of every organization which basically affects all the activities of
any organization as it controls all the important parts of the industry. For a proper
management skills to exist in any firm, the managers or the supervisors needs to have some
very basic managerial skills which ensures good balanced relationship between them and
their subordinate staffs. For this context we are discussing some few management survival
skills which include performance improvement process, coaching and motivations and also
type of infractions of an organization.
Performance improvement process
A pre-work needs to be undertaken before bringing an employee into our offices, a supervisor
needs to analyse the context of a problem with his or her employees to ensure that an issue is
address rather than instilling a negative impact to that employee. Identify the performance
gap, after a pre-work is done try to understand the performance issues the supervisors wants
to capture and address it to their employees. This can be the skills or the will issues of an
employee. Talk to the employee in a way that uplifts their will to work for you and improve
their skills in order to improve the general organization performance. Make sure that the real
problem is addressed and that the employee understands the need to up their performances
and also consequences that can occur due to their actions.
Are we rewarding the behaviour or punishing the performance? A very critical questions to
ask oneself as a supervisor or a manager. Make sure the problem or the behaviour is
