Running Head: TERRORIST INCIDENT 1 Terrorist Incidence Name Course Tutor Date TERRORIST INCIDENT 2 A Terrorist Incident On 4th June 2005, Saturday night in Borough Market and London Bridge, there was a scene of the terrorist attack which resulted in the killing of even people while forty-eight were left injured. The attack was confirmed to have taken place in these two sites, where the victims stabbed before they were rescued while others seven were left dead. People who witnessed the scene, had some information to explain how the incidence happened. The two fellows, Eric and Gerard, told that the people who stabbed the victims came driving in a van and after pulling it into pedestrians on the bridge, they attacked the victims while they shouted “This is for Allah”. The attackers were three, but it was unfortunate they were shot and killed in the incidence (Draca at el., 2011). The peacekeepers accepted fast because they managed to restore order at both sites within the first eight minutes of the first phone call. After their good work, police composed civilian by assuring them there were no more attackers on the run hence they had to fear nothing. London Bridge From the photos that were taken in the incident, BBC was able to broadcast and air more information concerning what happened in that day. For instance, there was a photo of two men on the ground wearing what looked like canisters strapped to their abdomen. However, police argued that what appeared to be s suicide vests in the photo was fake hence people should not panic or be traumatized by those pictures. However, from other sources in the social media such as Tweeter, people had different views concerning the two men who were photographed on the ground (Draca at el., 2011). According to police explanation, they responded to the first call at around 10.08 Pm when they heard that six people on the London Bridge were being rammed by three attackers from a White Van. The van veered off in the area and then drove in towards people were on the pavement. According to London Ambulance services, it was reported that within the six minutes after the scene, paramedics were at the sport to offer services to injured victims. Also, Metropolitan Police also confirmed that police were at the Borough Market few minutes after the incidence. Police was sorting out observer accounts, and trust that three men escaped the van and began assaulting individuals with blades. An observer, Eric, told the BBC that he heard yells of "this is for Allah." John Stokes, a transport visit control, said that he and the driver checked eight individuals lying out and about. The three men then kept running down to Borough Market. Borough Market In the Borough Market, the three-man were reported to have stabbed people in the market. They rampaged through the territory, entering the numerous bars and eateries to cut anybody in sight. Swarms in the bars battled back - heaving half quart glasses, containers, and seats at the aggressors. One lady was cut more than once, as indicated by a man named Gerard, who was attempting to push the assailant away by throwing seats at him. Security protects who works over various bars and bars in Borough Market told the BBC he saw the assailants after accepting a call from an associate in another bar who said individuals had been wounded. The security watches depicted individuals fleeing shouting from three men. He and his partners attempted to toss seats at the assailants, who were going all through various bars (Jennings at el., 2011). Inside eight minutes’ police were on the scene and opened fire, killing the three assailants. Photographs via web-based networking media demonstrated two of the men on the ground. One TERRORIST INCIDENT 3 of them, before the Wheatsheaf bar, had what seemed, by all accounts, to be canisters strapped to his stomach area. Police later said that the canisters were fake. Another onlooker said she saw police and two robots - she theorized that the robots could be there to incapacitate the canisters. Talking outside New Scotland Yard, Met Commissioner Cressida Dick gave points of interest of how the episode unfurled. "Our officers stood up to the suspects and conveyed this shocking occurrence to a conclusion inside eight minutes," she said. "We were called at 10.08pm the previous evening at first to reports that a vehicle had struck walkers on London Bridge. “That vehicle kept on driving from London Bridge to Borough Market. The presume then left the vehicle, and various individuals were wounded. "The suspects were shot dead by furnished officers Personal impact From the police report, people believed that there were three attackers who were killed in the incident. However, according to the eyewitness, one of the men appeared to be moving while on the ground while others were not moving at all (Buck, at el., 2013). As such, there is high chances that one of the attackers didn’t die in the incidence despite the report that all there died on the spot. The contradicting message of eyewitness and that of a police impacted fear to civilizations because they were stranded who to believe. Furthermore, there was not reported details about their identity. Although the police believed there were no attackers on the loose, they had a plan of searching in the area to ensure no more threat to citizens. Undoubtedly looking for associates and accomplices triggers more fear because people will fear there might be other attackers on the loose. Surprisingly, Londoners were told not to worry, but they should make their way home. After such a horrifying incidence, it was not advisable to let go of civilians around the area without confirming there were no attackers on the loose. People won’t be at peace or feel safe until the official message is communicated all attackers are captured and no more searching. Moreover, Metropolitan Police told people in the area to hide, run or leave the rea as first as possible. They were also advice to call 999 in the case of any emergency. This triggers a lot of fear to people especially when they are told to leave the place while there are still gun shots. Many won’t have the courage to leave the place in chaos. Others were traumatized by the incident when they saw the dead body on the ground. Train stop working in nearby station hence it was not easy for people to escape. To safeguard the lives of citizens in the area, metropolitans police should have ensured all citizens are freed from the area. Furthermore, police could have helped those people in the area to walk in the nearby trains stations such as Vauxhall so that they can easily leave the area (Hagland, & Watson, 2005). Such incidences threaten individual’s security because they live with a fear of being attacked by terrorist. If a van can pull off in the street ad kill innocent people, it shows that terrorism is rising in the London and government had to do something to reduce such cases. Frank Gardner, the BBC security correspondent, reported that police were not aware of such threat. That depicts there is much to be done to enhance security in the UK. People should not live with here or feel unprotected as they walk in the streets because of terrorists. For the past two years, the terrorist attack in the UK has increased hence something urgent needs to be done. Terrorist Incidence impact to victims TERRORIST INCIDENT 4 Police say no less than six individuals have been slaughtered. It is not clear what number of kicked the bucket on London Bridge, when the fear based oppressors' van kept running into persons and the men then cut anybody close-by, and what number of passed on in Borough Market. Specialists say 48 people have additionally been harmed; among them, a vehicle cop, a bar security watch, and a lady whose face and neck were draining abundantly. French remote priest Jean-Yves Le Drian has told radio station France Info Four French natives were harmed in the assault. It was already revealed there were two French victims. One of the casualties was affirmed to be in the healing center, while Australian experts were attempting to decide the status of the second individual, Turnbull told at a news gathering on Sunday. Strolling injured were dealt with at the Andaz Hotel, close Liverpool Street.
