William Rainey Harper College Loops Discussion
Now that we have loops and decision making abilities, we can start creating some more advanced programs. While focusing on loops, but being able to use anything we've learned so far:
Think of a problem that could be solved by using a loop - don't reuse the loan amortization example from the programming demo.
What type of loop would you use to solve the problem (while, for, or do-while)?
Using words (no programming required in this discussion), explain how you would go about solving the problem with a loop, in a series of steps.
Taking what you listed in #3 as requirements, have we learned enough at this point in the class that you could program this yourself, and if not, what do you think you are lacking?

You also want them to learn resiliency skills that will help them master future challenges. What are some skills or resources that you would like clients to learn in the counseling process? Explain how you might provide education, suggest, or even model these skills. Include at least one scholarly reference in your response.TEXTBOOKS Egan, G. & Reese, R. (2019). Walden University Discriminative Stimulus as Triggers for Behavior Discussion
When the rate of a behavior occurring is higher because of the presence of some antecedent stimulus than when that stimulus is absent, the behavior is said to be under stimulus control. When you wake up in the morning to the sound of an alarm clock, the alarm clock is the antecedent stimulus that triggers the behavior of you getting up. On your drive to work, the antecedent stimuli of red lights and stop signs trigger your behavior to stop your car. At your work desk, the ringing of your phone is an antecedent stimulus that triggers the behavior of you answering the phone.
In each of these examples, each behavioral response is triggered because of what has been reinforced in your past experiences with the corresponding stimulus. Your behaviors have been reinforced over time to expect certain consequences in the presence of certain stimuli. When this happens, the stimulus is said to be a discriminative stimulus (sD).
For this Assignment, you will examine discriminative stimuli as triggers for behavior by analyzing a behavior in which you regularly engage and identifying the discriminative stimulus (sD) for the behavior and the reinforcer that maintains the behavior.
To Prepare:
Review the readings and media found in this week’s Learning Resources to gain an understanding of stimulus control
Identify a behavior in which you engage on a fairly regular basis (i.e., at least every day or every other day).
Define the behavior in such a way that anyone could recognize the behavior by your definition.
Identify the discriminative stimulus (sD) for this behavior and the reinforcer that maintains this behavior.
