I don't think you'll find a Dividend Payable Liability on Coca Cola's most recent Annual Repor (2013), but check. Why would this current liability exist? What does it report? How will this type of liability be fulfilled/ satisifed?
Dividend payment is a current liability because it has to be paid within 40 days of its declaration and the payment is made in cash bu crediting shareholders account. Dividend declaration reassures investors that the company is a profit making company and it want to share its profit with its shareholders. The liability for paying dividend is satisfied by making dividend payment to shareholders.
