Description
Spend time brainstorming, thinking about your chosen question and your possible responses. Outline some of your ideas on a piece of paper. Look into the product or brands or topics you want to investigate. What patterns do you notice in the way they are advertised? Or, if choosing your own topic, what patterns emerge as you look over the last few decades?
What ideas are coming to you? What might be your answers to your chosen question, your thesis statement?
Then, make a post that does the following things in a small paragraph:
- Declares which prompt you have chosen and why
- Explains some of the ideas you're developing
- Proposes what you want to accomplish with your argument, what you want to say, and why
- Introduces what brands(s) or topic you are thinking about looking more closely at
- Asks one or more questions about the assignment requirements, semiotic analysis, and/or the ideas we have encountered in the readings
