Introduction

The purpose of this term paper is to take the position of ambassador of Zambia (home
country) and be appointed in Pakistan (Muslim majority country) and discuss the requirements of
knowledge and attitudes, identify areas of positive relationships and cooperation and determine
the differences in language, culture, patterns of life, social organization and technology between
Zambia and Pakistan.
Requirements of Knowledge and Attitudes
Pakistan is located on the eastern borders of Afghanistan and Iran and on the western
borders of India and it is a multi-ethnic country. Pakistan has a deep and rich history of migration
and conquest and this has contributed to the vast diversity of the country. Therefore, the norms,
values, and beliefs of the people vary across the country and all the provinces and regions are
quite distinguished from one another. Being an ambassador of Zambia in Pakistan, it is highly
important to understand the differences in norms and values of each region and province.
