Prostatitis is a condition occurring in men which result in the inflammation of the prostate gland
in men. The prostate is the organ in the male sexual system responsible for the production of
liquid semen which nourishes transports sperms during ejaculation. The condition is primarily
caused by bacterial infection while physical trauma can also contribute to the condition. Cases of
prostatitis have also been reported where no evidence of both bacterial infection and trauma has
been reported. Bacterial Prostatitis often results from untreated urinary tract infections.
