What were the major events (e.g., social, political, economic, technological) in the history of each group and who were their major leaders or advocates in this period? How did industrialization and wars affect all three groups?

2. Define, compare, and contrast Populism, Progressivism, and New Deal. Were there any connections among the three political movements and philosophies? What did they have in common? How did they differ from each other? How did the role of government evolve in the three periods? How did industrialization fit into each episode?

3. Compare and contrast the Spanish American War and the American participation in World War I and World War II. Who were the main players in each event and how did they make the case for or against the war? How did industrialization fit in these wars? What was the impact of each war both at home and abroad? In your opinion, were American policy and conduct justified in these wars? Why and why not?
