Democratic Theories
These theories cover the belief that democracy is the people's rule, which signifies that
the people have the right to rule. These theories analyze various democracies like constitutional
democracy, representative democracy, direct democracy and monitory democracy. Thus, these
theories expound on the rights and freedom that the citizens exercise, including freedom of
expression, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, right to vote, and many other rights. The
two democratic ideals aids in bringing the citizens into the political issues; these ideals include;
voting and political participation.
Democratic ideals refer to the attributes applied by the government in most of its
functions which are meant to exercise the continuation of the democratic policies. The
democratic ideals are used in gathering support from the citizens, mainly during election times.
The ideal is also applied to engage in persuasion; mainly, it is applied to gather support on the
issues that had been dismissed, thus showing that the majority has a right and always wins
(Kantola & Lombardo, 2021). Thus it can be applied in gathering opportunity and equality
among the citizens. These democratic ideals focus on three types of rights: social rights, civil
rights, and political rights.
Liberal democracy
This type of democracy mainly functions under the indirect democratic form of the
government where it is a combination of various liberal political ideologies. They are various
characteristics that are associated with this form of democracy which involves; election between
various political parties, separation of powers into various branches of the government and the
rule of law which governs the citizens in their everyday activities where they involve an open

society, free-market economy, protection of the human rights, freedoms, civil rights and liberties
(NEGRETTO & SÁNCHEZ-TALANQUER, 2021). These democracies are also associated with
modifying the constitution, either codified or uncodified. This is mainly done to explain the
powers of the government and give more review on the social contracts. Liberal democracy has
recently become the dominant political system globally, and most governments utilize it in their
governance.
The liberal democracy utilizes various constitutional forms, including either the republic
or constitutional monarchy. These forms of constitutional mainly involve various forms of
