Use the provided information, as well as your own research, to assess one (1) of the stated brands (Alfa
Romeo, Amazon, or Google) by completing the questions below. At the end of the worksheet, be sure to
develop a new positioning statement and motto for the brand you selected. Submit the completed

Company/Brand Selected (Google):
Who are the target customers for the company/brand?
The target customer for Google is online users. This encompasses the following groups;
• Online advertisers
• Website owners
• Electronic mail users such as g-mail users due to Gmail
• Instant messaging users due to Google instant messaging
• GPRS users for maps and directions
How could/does the company reach its customers/users? What methods and media might and/or
doesthe company use to reach the customers/users?
Google reaches its customers through various avenues most of which are online. The avenues are;
Through social corporate responsibility actions such as supporting green
Supporting and sponsoring events in exchange of printing its logo in
strategic places of the event.
Using banner advertisements on online websites
Through television commercials
Through feature films that tend to use Google products in the film such
as the Google search engine thus drawing attention to it.
By developing utility applications that are given to users free such as
Google maps and Google goggles
What would grab the customers/users’ attention? Define the customers/users according to their
demographics and psychographic information (e.g., age, gender, income, education, lifestyle,
values, etc).How do they want to be perceived?
Several things about Google could grab the customer’s attention. These are;
• The company’s catchy logo
• The sheer volume of WebPages available on the engine
• The features offered by the company such as Google goggles
The customers of Google are whoever has access to a computer and would like to perform a search online.
The search engine cuts across gender, age, income, education and lifestyle.
